BracketJam

Privacy policy

BracketJam privacy

BracketJam collects no data. There’s no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Ramify Studios, which makes BracketJam, never receives your tournaments, photos, music, or results.

This page explains what the app keeps on your device and in your iCloud, and what Apple handles for the purchase.

Your tournaments stay on your device

Everything you enter, such as tournament, team, game, and player names, results, points, and settings, is saved on your iPad or iPhone in the app’s private storage. The app has no analytics, advertising, or tracking code and no third-party software kits, and we run no servers for it. Deleting the app deletes everything it saved on the device.

iCloud backup

When you’re signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive on, BracketJam backs up your tournaments to your own iCloud Drive, in a folder that belongs to the app. Apple stores and protects it under Apple’s privacy policy, and Ramify Studios can’t access it.

You can turn backup off, or delete your other devices’ backups, in iCloud backup, under Change tournament in the app. Without iCloud, everything else in BracketJam still works.

Photos and music

You pick photos with the system photo picker, which gives BracketJam only the photos you choose. The app never asks for access to your whole photo library. Victory music comes from audio files you choose in Files.

BracketJam keeps a copy of each photo and song with its tournament on your device, and includes it in your iCloud backup and in any tournament file you export. The originals stay where they were, and none of it is sent to us.

Sharing a tournament

A tournament file goes only where you send it, such as AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or Files, and includes the tournament’s photos and music. Once it’s shared, it’s with the people and services you sent it to. BracketJam never sends anything automatically.

The purchase

BracketJam Pro is bought with Apple through the App Store, which handles the payment. We don’t receive your payment details, your name, or your Apple Account. To check whether Pro is unlocked, the app asks the App Store from your device. Apple’s privacy policy covers the purchase.

Deleting your data

  • Delete a tournament in the app with Tournament options, then Delete tournament.
  • Delete the app to remove everything it saved on your device.
  • Delete backups in iCloud backup in the app, or in the Settings app under your name, then iCloud, then your account storage.

Children

BracketJam doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Crash reports from Apple

If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may share crash reports and anonymous usage statistics with us. Apple controls that setting, under Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
